Senior Developers

We’re looking for experienced developers to help build the Our.News platform. The positions are full-time and will work directly with our cofounders and other developers to make rapid improvements to our front and back-end software.  If you are passionate about the news, fighting misinformation, doing work that benefits the world, and speak any of these languages fluently (JavaScript, Perl, PHP, Python), we want you!

The ideal candidates will have the following skills & experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related
  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • Fluency with either JavaScript, Perl, PHP, or Python
  • Experience with AWS, Git, Linux, MySQL
  • Experience with Slack and WordPress is a plus
  • Prior experience working for a startup is a plus

Social Media Manager

We’re looking for a friendly, organized, social media personality to help build and engage with our online user community. The position is full-time and will work directly with our cofounders to create and maintain a vibrant user base. Responsibilities include consistently engaging users on social media, keeping the community updated on latest developments, helping users to use our system, moderating the day’s news and headlines, providing marketing and other support on related efforts.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills & experience:

  • Associates degree in Communications, Marketing, Political Science, or related
  • 2+ years of experience managing social media profiles
  • Experience with Constant Contact, MailChimp, Slack, or WordPress is a plus
  • Prior experience working for a startup is a plus
