But no one anywhere denies that this happened. Therefore, it’s likely true. Generally speaking, I agree with you that named sources are better than unnamed sources, however, it’s not always possible for sources to be named, even legitimate ones. That doesn’t necessarily make the news false, especially if there are no other denials or objections.

Muller and his sources are not commenting on any or these stories. Therefore, no comment does not indicate probability of truth.

It’s fake news until it’s substantiated. Gossip and rumor are NOT news, and should not be taken as truth.

I think we’ll have to agree to disagree on the concept that an unnamed source automatically means something is false. Especially in this case, it’s obvious that Facebook itself would deny this if it were false.
